VFW Post 759 invites local students to share their ideas, experiences and understanding of America through the Veterans of Foreign Wars national youth scholarship competitions.

"What a Veteran Taught Me About America"
The Veterans of Foreign Wars sponsors separate national competitions for middle-school and high-school students. Entries begin at the local VFW level and may advance through District, State and National judging.
VFW Post 759 is using Scholar's App for the 2026–2027 Voice of Democracy and Patriot's Pen competitions. Students should use the appropriate Enter Online button below to begin their entry for VFW Post 759.
Voice of Democracy gives high-school students the opportunity to express their views through an original recorded audio essay based on the annual VFW theme.
Patriot's Pen encourages middle-school students to examine America's history, citizenship and their own experiences through an original patriotic written essay.
The entry process begins online. Choose the competition that matches your grade level and use the Post 759 Scholar's App entry link above.
Voice of Democracy is for grades 9–12. Patriot's Pen is for grades 6–8.
Click the Enter Online button for your contest to open the Scholar's App entry system for Post 759.
Follow the Scholar's App instructions and provide all required student, parent or guardian and contest information.
Upload all required materials, review your entry carefully and submit it before the deadline.
Some school networks may restrict access to outside websites. If Scholar's App will not open from a school computer or network, the school's technology department may need to allow access.
VFW Post 759 welcomes questions from students, parents, guardians, teachers, school counselors and home-school families. Teachers and counselors interested in sharing Voice of Democracy or Patriot's Pen with their students are encouraged to contact the Post.
